Trip to Dillard, Georgia November 2004 I haven't seen my best bud' Stefanie, in over 4 years, when she & her fiance took me on a mountain trip for my 40th birthday...she has a nack of showing up or calling when I most need it & this time was no exception. The trip couldn't have happened at a better time...1 week before I went under the knife!!! It was nice to have something to look forward to, not only the trip but seeing my best friend of 32 years!!! Stefanie & I fell upon the Dillard House 6 years ago when we went white water rafting down the Chatooga River. We had plans of spending the day on the raft & coming back home to Charlotte that very same day. Unknowingly, after the day's activities we were tired, cold & hungry. Someone on the trip recommended the Dillard House for a great dinner & a warm, cozy night's sleep. Exactly what Stef & I were looking for, we proceeded to the Dillard House. If you've never experienced the Dillard House Restaurant, you're in for a treat!!! Put your FEED BAGS ON!!! The restaurant changes their menu daily & it's always prix fixe. They serve everything family style & will keep the refills coming until you're stuffed. The chalet was more than warm & cozy. There was a 6 person jacuzzi in a separate room off of the master bedroom & a fireplace! We couldn't of asked for more!!! Since our visit to the Dillard House 6 years ago was just too short, Stef & I vowed "we'd be back!!!" Sure enough my 45th birthday present to the Dillard House from Stef & John was a memorable one. Full of love, laughs, waterfalls, fishing & good food!!! So now you have a little background as to how this trip came about. As I reminisce & look at the pictures of the beauty that's literally in my backyard I think to myself, how can anybody not believe there is a God.
